Progetto Arca cooperates with Fondazione AVSI in three African countries: Côte d’Ivoire, South Sudan, and Uganda.

The collaboration involves three distance educational support projects aimed at ensuring access to quality education for vulnerable primary and secondary school children at risk of dropping out.

Specifically, the distance support activities include the (partial or full) coverage of school fees and the distribution of learning materials, helping to relieve families of expenses they cannot afford and to prevent school abandonment.

Overall, the project will cover the educational costs of 60 children for a period of 2 years.

Since 2025 we have also been present in Mozambique, supporting the project “A home for all”, launched by the Comunità Missionaria di Villaregia in collaboration with the Ministero Caritativo-Sociale della Parrocchia della Santissima Trinità, in the outskirts of Maputo, the country’s capital.

This is a territory marked by severe housing insecurity: many families live in huts made of mats and sheet metal, with no safe access to drinking water, sanitation facilities, or reliable electricity. Frequent rains and cyclones further weaken these fragile structures, often causing collapses and putting residents’ lives at risk.

The project’s goal is to ensure dignified housing for the most vulnerable families – elderly people living alone, single-parent families, abandoned women with dependent children, people with disabilities, and households with many children – those who are most affected by housing insecurity.

In 2025 we financed the construction of the first house for a family consisting of a widowed, ill mother living alone with her two children.

The “A home for all” project aims to improve the living conditions of the community, offering the possibility to live safely and with dignity.
