In December 2025, we launched an intervention to support five Palestinian Bedouin villages in the Al-Hatrura community in the West Bank. Due to the conflict in the Gaza Strip, many families have lost their already precarious jobs in Israel and are now living without income in huts in the desert. Since then, we have been providing ongoing food assistance to around 650 people through the distribution of essential goods, carried out in collaboration with the Comboni Missionary Sisters.
We have contributed to the reopening of kindergartens and schools, enabling children—who had been out of education for over three years—to return to studying and to experience essential moments of social interaction for their development. We also support the work of professionals who have been running, for the past two years, a reception center for Palestinian and Israeli individuals affected by the trauma of war.
At the same time, in Italy, on behalf of Regione Lombardia, we coordinated the “Mai soli” (“Never alone”) fundraising campaign, aimed at addressing the needs of Palestinian children hospitalized in major hospitals in Milan, Bergamo, and Brescia, and supporting the reception of their families.
Thanks to the funds raised, we were able to provide essential items, including clothing, books, and toys to ease long hospital stays; food support through grocery vouchers; assistance with transportation; and accommodation in dedicated apartments. Overall, 60 children and their 22 parents received the material and human support they needed.
